My motivations:
This year I will be participating in an extraordinary event known as the 24 hours of Tremblant for the sixth time!
It is an unbelievable experience that pushes me both physically and mentally. The 24 hours of Tremblant was the dream of Jacques Villeneuve and his foundation. Patterned after the 24 hours of Lemans car race, they created an event that put teams of skiers on the hill for 24 hours straight with the purpose of raising funds for charity. And raise funds they did!
To date, the 24 hours of Tremblant has generated over $ 25 million in donations for the designated groups. It has expanded to include a road bike event as well as an endurance walk. This year, my goal is to raise $500! I cannot describe the feeling of being part of over 200 Teams of racers crowding the start line anticipating the event. I also cannot describe the solitude of riding down a dark mountain alone at 4:00 a.m, which is often the case!
Looking down over the magnificent location I am reminded each year of how fortunate we are. I'm asking my support network of close friends and family for a donation on my behalf and the charities benefiting by our event.
The website is in French with an English option. Our Team is BGIS #2; and we are made up of Executives and family from all over the country! This year we will be skiing again in memory of one of our Team Mates; Cameron Hicks, who was tragically passed in an accident on October 31st, 2014. I cannot wait to challenge myself again at this year's 24 hours of Tremblant. I will post updates and pictures on Facebook. We will be on Twitter as well! Thanks for everything you do.
