Tax receipts

Because lottery prizes are exempt from tax in Quebec, no official tax receipt is issued for participation in a contest. This is in accordance with the rules of the Canada Revenue Agency, which classifies participation in a contest as a personal attempt to win a prize rather than a charitable contribution.
