My motivations:
I'm excited to be taking part in Tremblant's 24h ski/charity event again this year. Tremblant's 24hr is a sporting challenge that is taken up in teams of 12 participants who relay each other for 24 hours of continuous skiing. Registered teams take part in a fundraising drive where all profits are donated to three foundations dedicated to children's causes.
As you may know I am very passionate about skiing. I ski and race out of Craigleith Ski Club and have been involved with the BOMA ski day for many, many years. Over the past 4 years with BOMA we fundraised for two Canadian Alpine Ski athletes (Phil Brown and Erin Latimer) who particpated in the last two Olympics and Paralympics respectively. Having this opportunity to participate in a team event over 24 hours and fundraise for children's causes is double the motivation to participate.
We are all touched, directly or indirectly, by children's causes. It is incredibly heartening and gratifying to know that our efforts can lead to concrete changes in their lives. I appeal to your generosity in helping me reach my target, which will in turn help advance this worthy cause.
I have a video below of one of my runs last year in the fog holding a GoPro and booking it down from top to bottom with no turns. Its much faster and a bit more challenging than it looks. I am running pretty fast around the 3-4 minute mark on the video. My portion of the event will again be 2 hrs and I plan to book it even faster this year for my team.
Your generosity is greatly appreciated and I thank you for any donation you may feel to contribute to help me reach my goal!
