The 24 hours of ski is fast approaching! It’s now or never! So spread the word to your surroundings and collect donations! Children touched by this cause will be forever grateful!
Being the largest fundraiser of the Canadian ski industry the 24h of Tremblant requires that teams have good ideas for funding as they must provide a minimum donation.
The weather getting cooler and leaving no room for wash-a-thons, trade in your sponge for a rake and rake your neighbours’ leaves in exchange for a donation. You can offer your help to install a carport or to stack wood - which are also excellent ways to stay in shape. You can also offer to help people in your neighbourhood complete their yard work before winter, whether it be to paint a fence or prepare the gardens for the cold weather.
Otherwise, there is a range of activities that are brilliant year round! You can offer to walk the neighbourhood dogs or to care for your neighbours’ animals during their holidays. If you are an artist, you can also do a silent auction with your work or sell other practical items that may interest your buyers like your old pair of skis, still in good condition, of course! Or simply install a collection box for donations from businesses in your area.
Always wanted to try the restaurant industry? Gather your team and offer your local restaurant to replace their staff for one evening. You can collect all the tips of the evening and put them towards your collection of donations!
Your family will always be more interested to give if they feel involved. You can offer one of your loved ones, who is an entrepreneur, to affix a logo of his company or his name on your uniform in exchange of a donation to the 24h of Tremblant.
In addition to the web donation platform that we offer, you can use other means to hold your campaign. Facebook and MySpace are great ways to reach many people within a short time period. Otherwise, take a few minutes of your day to send a simple email outlining the details of the process of giving for 24 hours to your entire email address book. If you enjoy writing, you can even create a blog where you can spread your financial whereabouts and keep your family informed of the progress of your campaign.
For those who are thinking big, you can organize a fundraising dinner and launch a “50/50"draw: what better than a good and comforting hot meal during this time of year! You can also ask shops that you frequently go to for donations or ask them for a free space to solicit their customers. Maybe even your local newspaper will agree to give you an advertising space for the cause!
In short, you are the only one who can put a limit on your campaign. The possibilities are endless and the issue affects everyone. By soliciting people in a respectful manner and by not always directing yourself to the same people, who knows where are far you can go!
We invite you to share your campaign ideas so that all teams can benefit, thus raising the most donations possible. Send your ideas to relpub@intrawest.com and we will post the best and most original campaign ideas on this page. Come back often, you may find the catalyst for your campaign right here!
