Mont-Tremblant, December 14th, 2008 - The 8th edition of the 24h of Tremblant was a resounding success, bringing in the extraordinary sum of $1 060 275 and surpassing its objective of $1,000,000! Thanks to the record participation of 210 teams totaling 1,700 participants, to the Cybèles which brought $46,842, and to the crucially important support of our partners, the organizing committee can say: mission accomplished! It probably goes without saying, however, that it was an emotional moment when the cheques were presented to the beneficiary foundations: The Charles Bruneau Cancerology Centre Foundation, the Ottawa Senators Foundations, and the Tremblant Foundation.
“We must admit to a great deal of pride when we turned the cheque over to the children,” states Charles Massicotte, president of Mont Tremblant Resort. “We can confirm that our event is in excellent health, and hope that it brings the same to the children.”
“I would like to thank the participants and all those from near and far who have been involved in this event, which brought so many people together,” says Simon St-Arnaud, event producer.
An event crowned with success!
The winning teams!
Every year, there are teams that stand out by becoming deeply involved in the fundraising. This year it was the Cybèles team that brought in the greatest amount of money, raising $46,842. The team will fly to Switzerland with Swiss International Air Lines to participate in the Villars 24h Grand Prix.
Records and more records!
A record amount of money raised, record snowfall, record number of participants and of visitors who took advantage of the weekend’s events. The program for the weekend included shows by the groups Kaïn, Mobile, Hedley, Creature and Beast. And for a big surprise, the Pascale Picard band marked the end of the event with an outstanding performance on the outdoor stage.
