A little more than an hour ahead before the official start!

Teams are getting ready; a little more than an hour ahead before the official start of the 24 hours relay. The pedestrian village is getting lively and so are the participants. On the web platform, we already raised over half of our goal, more than 630 000$. Come and root for the participants so that we reach our million. You can also help us reaching our goal by buying the official tuque of the event in one of the Tremblant participating boutiques. A packed agenda is waiting for you as well as a warm ambience - we wish the same for the temperature. Tonight, Creature, Kaïn, Mobile, Hedley, Dee and Anik Jean will give free shows troughout the evening. We are waiting for you!

General Rules
Mountain Code of Conduct should be strictly followed by all participants. Security, Sport spirit and respect of each other are the goal of this ski-o-thon.

1. Respect Mountain code of conduct – see below.
2. Strict monitoring of the Mountain code of conduct will be observed in the slow down sections, Roy Scott, transition and chairlift boarding areas.
3. Team member shifts are left to each team’s discretion.
4. Helmets are mandatory for all participants.
5. Bib should be fully visible at all times.
6. When leaving a relay, the racer should have his complete equipment, latched helmet and fully visible bib.
7. First racer must have all his equipment upon race start at the Place des Voyageurs.
8. Each team is responsible of the timing chip and its installation, Only lap count by the timing system will be credited.
9. Penalties, by reduction of Km, and disqualification will be applied if rules are not respected.

Participation Category

CATEGORY
• Open (6-12 Part. Max.) Junior (Ages 11-17) All snowboarders
• Women (only) Paralympic

RULES : General rules and :
1. Emphasis is on participation, fun and safety.
2. Downhill suits are forbidden or any other similar suit.
3. Downhill ski forbidden.
4. Downhill position forbidden.
5. Three (3)transition zone access passes per team will be given– No other accreditation will allow entry to zone.
6. Junior and Paralympic categories have the privilege of an additional support (one,1) in transition zone.
7. Runs*: Day: Upper and lower Beauvallon Night: Lower Beauvallon
*Runs are subject to change

Performance Category

CATEGORY
 Performance (4 participants minimum. – 6 participants maximum)

RULES : General rules and :
1. Downhill suits are authorized.
2. Downhill authorized, except in slow down, Roy Scott and transition areas.
3. Three (3)transition zone access passes per team will be given– No other accreditation will allow entry to zone.
4. Runs*: Day: Upper Nansens and Bière-en-bas Night: Bière-en-bas
*Runs are subject to change

Mountain Code of Conduct
1. Remain in control of your speed and direction. Make sure you can stop and avoid any person or obstacle.
2. Yield the right of way to persons downhill and choose a course that ensures their safety.
3. Stop on a trail only if you are visible from above and if you are not obstructing the trail.
4. Yield the right of way to persons uphill when entering a trail and at intersections.
5. If you are involved in or witness an accident, remain at the scene and identify yourself to a first-aider.
6. Use and wear a proper device to prevent runaway equipment at all times.
7. Keep off the lifts and trails if your ability is impaired by the use of alcohol or drugs.
8. Obey all signs and warnings and never venture off the trails or onto a closed trail.

Distance Calculation
The distance calculation will be based on the runs length used for each category. If a team bought 2 bibs (Participation and Performance), then the shortest length of each will be used, as follow:

Penalty and Disqualification

The race director can apply penalty to the team that do not respect the rules. Penalty are applied by subtraction of mileage.

If a team does not respect the rules provided by the organization, or collect penalties or go against the 24 h spirit (security, team spirit and respect of each other), or any other actions not specified above which are judged to be at fault, the race director will determine the type of sanction to be emitted which can also include the disqualifying of the team.

A lot of work & preparation goes into our event & so, lets take the time to see some of the numerous steps that are taken to reach our final product!

Dear participants,

It is with great pleasure that we confirm your registration to the 8th Edition of Le 24h de Tremblant. We thank you so much, on behalf of the children, for joining us in this fund raising event which will benefit to the Fondation Centre de cancérologie Charles-Bruneau, the Sens Foundation and the Tremblant Foundation.

You will find below all of the pertinent information with regards to this ski racing event, team registration, lodging and various procedures.

PARTICIPANTS REGISTRATION


Every member of your team must register online before the captain show up at the registration table during the event.

DONATION


Our new online registration and donations tool will help you increase the funds you raise. This simple, rapid process will allow you to encourage your friends, family, colleagues and contacts from Tremblant to Timbuktu to donate to the children. Once your team is registered, you can send an email that introduces the 24h and lets you ask all recipients to support you in your fundraising. A generic email is provided, which you can modify so that it represents you more personally. Then the donor can, in just a few clicks, make a credit card donation.

For donations via cheque or cash, fill out the donations form. If possible, send your donations to the foundation in advance, prior to December 10. Otherwise, you can always bring them with you and hand them in when you pick up your participation bib.

A minimum donation of $100 per participant or $3 per kilometers per team is required (excluding corporate packages). Please note that if this amount has not been received, your registration cannot be completed and your team bib cannot be handed out. Tax receipts will be issued for all donations of $20 or more.

ON SITE EVENT COURSE



Registration


Where : Attention! This year, the headquarter will be at the Congress Center.
When? : Friday December 12th, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Saturday December 13th, 7 :30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Why? : To obtain your accreditation and your team bib. To remit the donations you collected. Please note that the captain must present a signed waiver for each team participant to obtain the bib.

Participants’ breakfast


Where? : Cpngress Center –Boréale rooms
When? : Saturday December 13th, 7a m.. to 11 a.m.

Captains’ meeting– MANDATORY


Where ? : Congress Center – Zéphyr rooms
When ? : Saturday December 13th, 10 a.m.
Why? : Only one representative of each team will attend this meeting to receive the team chips (upon presentation of your team bib) and obtain all details of the competition.

Official 24 h of Tremblant Launch Party


With BEAST, CREATURE, HEDLEY
Free Access to all 24h Accreditation holders.
General attendance: tickets on sale at the base of the gondola and at the event headquarter –
$20 each.

Rules for the participant category

• A trail is exclusively reserved to participants in this category.
• Special emphasis will be given to participation, fun and safety.
• Helmets are mandatory for all participants.
• Downhill suits are forbidden.
• Suggested runs*
Day: Beauvallon haut and bas
Night: Beauvallon bas
*Suggested runs are subject to change.

Rules for the performance category

Transition zone


Three cards providing access to the transition zone will be issued to each team.

Fundraising race


The team that will raise the most donations prior to Saturday December 13th, 2008, 11 a.m., will fly to Switzerland to participate to the Grand Prix 24h de Villars.**

ACCOMMODATION



Your accommodation


To obtain your reservation number and find out which hotel you’ll be staying at, look for the section “extra infos” on your team registration page.

Late check-out


Late check-out will be available until 2 p.m. for $30. Your request must be made at the front desk, upon check-in.

Parking


The outdoor parking is free. The indoor parking at $10, per car, per night, must be paid directly at your hotel front desk.

Because there are so many teams and participants, our registration coordinator will contact and communicate directly with the Team Captains for all post-registration matters. Thank you for following this procedure. It will make things more efficient for everyone.

Thank you for joining the numerous celebrities, volunteers, 20 000 spectators, and more than 1500 participants in the hope of making a big difference, and surpassing the $1 041 000 collected last year. Invite your friends, family and colleagues to cheer you up. Different shows and activities will make everybody happy!
