Tremblant’s 24h Launches 18th Edition Marie-Mai is new ambassador; team registration record shattered!

Montreal, October 11, 2018 – The 24h community, sponsored children and their families, ambassadors and participants gathered to celebrate the official launch of the 18th edition of Tremblant’s 24h, this year taking place from December 7 to 9. Event organizers took the opportunity to announce its new ambassador, rock and pop singer Marie-Mai.

Anticipating new records Once again this year, it looks like previous records will be broken; the fundraising target has been set at $4,125,000. Plus, with two months still to go before the event, the community seems to have rallied even more strongly than ever before, with 344 teams already registered compared with last year’s total of 365 participating teams. There is still time to sign up, but act now as places are limited.

Life-changing impacts on children’s lives The flagship mission of the 24h is still the health and wellbeing of children, a goal that is achieved through the foundations and projects dedicated to that objective. The funds raised are processed by Fondation 24h Tremblant with all proceeds turned over to the official foundations that benefit from the event.

Ambassadors motivated by the children The 24h enjoys the support and participation of devoted ambassadors. Familiar faces are back this year: Benoit Gagnon, Philippe Fehmiu, Anne-Marie Withenshaw, Erik Guay, Lianne Laing, Alexandre Bilodeau, Alexandre Despatie, Dominic Arpin and Frédéric Plante will also be among the 3,500 participants taking the 24h challenge. To the delight of organizers, participants and music fans, singer Marie-Mai joins the effort for the first time.

Fun, festive programming Beyond the donation drives and the physical challenge, many activities and exciting live shows are planned for the weekend. Saturday night starts strong with Marie-Mai performing on the Rogers stage. Mélissa Lavergne follows with the traditional 24h concert. Igloofest tops off the night with a touch of magic and music that will have participants dancing into the wee hours.

Major partners The event’s official presenter, Freedom 55 Financial, is back for its second year with an even larger delegation of teams. Rogers has joined the event as a new partner in support of children’s causes. Also noteworthy is the valuable and hugely appreciated participation of numerous sponsors and generous donors: Brookfield Energy, Schneider Electric, CGI, Adviso, PayFacto, Coca-Cola, Helly Hansen, Air Transat, Kombi and Boréale.

About Tremblant’s 24h Tremblant’s 24h relies on more than 38,000 donors each year and draws crowds of over 25,000, including nearly 3,500 participants, sponsors, celebrities, musicians and media representatives. Tremblant’s 24h is a sporting challenge for teams of 6 to 12 participants, who relay each other over a 24-hour period in three disciplines: skiing, walking or running. Registered teams hold a donation drive, with all proceeds going to three major foundations dedicated to children’s causes. The weekend event also features a non-stop array of activities and live shows, making it an unforgettable experience for all!
