The Ottawa Senators Foundation

A beneficiary of Tremblant’s 24h of skiing since 2006, the Ottawa Senators Foundation which supports programs designed to improve the quality of life for underprivileged children and youth was founded in 1998.  The Sens Foundation utilizes the unique resources of the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club to make a positive and lasting difference in the lives of children and youth in the eastern Ontario and western Quebec.

The 24h of skiing of Tremblant is the largest community event partner of the Sens Foundation and during the past five years the event has donated over $1,3M to the Sens Foundation.  The Sens Foundation retains 15% of these funds for administration and operations and the remaining funds have been gifted to several organizations including Roger’s House, Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, Candlelighters, Project S.T.E.P. and the Max Keeping Foundation.

«Tremblant’s 24h of skiing is a favourite on the Sens Foundation event calendar.» said Sens Foundation president Danielle Robinson. «The contribution made from this in terms of memories for the participants and to healthcare for the children and youth of our community is tremendous.»

Team Phillips
, the group led by two of the event’s ambassadors, Senators defenseman Chris Phillips and his wife, Erin. Both consider the 24h of Tremblant an event they wouldn’t want to miss. «The money it raises and the fun our team members have, speaks for itself,» said Phillips. «To be there … it really is a great weekend.»

A-morning personality Lianne Laing, also a 24h of Tremblant ambassador, agreed saying «It’s truly one of the best events I’ve ever taken part in. You truly feel throughout the course of the weekend that you are giving back, and that people will benefit after we’ve had a fantastic time on the slopes.»

THE OTTAWA SENATORS FOUNDATION plans to build 20 permanent 200’x85’ (NHL size) outdoor natural ice surface rinks in low-income/priority neighbourhoods in Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec. These would include a concrete or asphalt slab, boards, fencing, hockey and basketball nets. The cost to build one rink with a program delivery model is estimated at $200,000. Ottawa’s Rink of Dreams is already under construction at Ottawa City Hall. $100,000 of the funds donated from The Tremblant 24h Foundation to the OTTAWA SENATORS FOUNDATION will be dedicated to the Community Rinks project.
