Initiatives with a snowball effect
For the second year, Manulife is proud to be a sponsor of 24h Tremblant. We have every reason to be proud of the 2011 crop of skiers, since this year, five teams from Manulife are taking to the slopes for a good cause!
Thanks to the unbridled enthusiasm of our employees and advisors, we wanted to broaden the scope of our gesture to encourage our entire community to get involved. Here are our initiatives.
Before the 24h, let’s draw the future!
This year, we got employees and advisors involved by requesting that they ask their kids about their vision of the future and to draw what they saw. What better way to build hope and inspire skiers than to portray the future as seen by children? All their drawings and some of their messages will be broadcast in the Manulife Cube.
During the 24h, take a break and get warm!
You can’t miss our green cube nestled at the foot of the slopes, where we’ll offer visitors a warm and cozy environment. In our relaxation zone, our employees will welcome you with a delicious homemade broth, which you can sip while unwinding in front of a magnificent fireplace. You can even stay nice and warm by taking home a wonderful blanket, and why not support the cause by leaving a small donation?
Naturally, we didn’t forget the skiers who are doing much of the work. We’ve planned for a tent where they can stop by for a massage and some refreshments. The people who’ll be skiing the slopes for hours at a time definitely deserve it!
After the 24h, the involvement continues!
Manulife Financial is not only supporting children through the 24h Tremblant, but the entire community throughout the year.
Manulife backs the volunteer efforts of its employees across Canada through a variety of initiatives, in particular Community Spirit Days, where we offer employees who wish to volunteer a day off. We also sponsor employee support programs, where donations are presented to the charitable organizations to which our employees give their time, as well as volunteering opportunities such as Habitat for Humanity, the affordable housing construction program. Over the last year, Manulife created the Web site www.getvolunteering.ca to support and encourage volunteering in the community.
Drop by and discover the volunteering opportunities available to you and offer your help … for longer than 24 hours!
